Partnership for the Public Good, Open Buffalo and the Drug Policy Alliance are hosting a community conversation on the impacts of unequal marijuana prohibition Monday at 6 p.m. at 2421 Main St.

At the event, PPG will share a new report finding that, from 2012 to 2016, 76 percent of those arrested in Erie County for low-level marijuana possession were people of color, even though they are only 18 percent of the population and drug use is roughly even across racial lines.

Participants will discuss the harm this disparity can cause to communities, and possible solutions, including a statewide legalization bill introduced by Assemblywoman Crystal Peoples-Stokes.

The event includes dinner and a screening of a short film by Jay-Z on the war on drugs.
