Join us on The Public Good. This week’s guests are Neena Hussey, Youth Education Director at Massachusetts Avenue Project (MAP). She’ll be joined by MAP Youth Echo Martinez.
The Massachusetts Avenue Project’s (MAP) mission is to nurture the growth of a diverse, accessible, and equitable local food system, promote economic opportunities, and empower youth through social change education. They began as a food access focused nonprofit built to address concerns of Youth Empowerment and employment throughout Buffalo’s West Side.
MAP has expanded since then, but the core focus of empowering youth remains. Since creating their Job Leadership Training Youth program in 2003, MAP has employed over 650 high school students.
Our guests will be discussing the program, what it’s like to be involved, and the benefits of the program for participating youth and the community.
