We discuss how the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted inequities--how difficult it can be for those without vehicles to access jobs and basic needs such as food and healthcare. In our city and region, where over 50,000 households don't have access to a vehicle, improving public transit is an equity issue. Doug discusses how to make public transit safe and healthy throughout COVID-19 recovery. We also discuss CRT's priorities for light rail expansion through the East Side of Buffalo, and electrifying Buffalo's bus fleet to make public transit more energy efficient.
