Over the next few months, PPG is hosting Buffalo Common Council members on The Public Good as they discuss their goals and plans for the upcoming year.
This week on The Public Good, we feature Council Member Bryan Bollman of the Lovejoy District.
Council Member Bollman has bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University at Buffalo. Prior to being elected to the council, he spent 11 years as a public servant of East Side neighborhoods in City Hall. He has served on the Common Council since 2020.
The Lovejoy District encompasses much of the East Side east of Bailey Avenue, including Schiller Park, East Lovejoy, Kaisertown, and Babcock. Lovejoy has the highest percentage of youth residents – 26% of the overall population. Just over half of Lovejoy residents identify as white while about 37% identify as Black. Community landmarks include the Clinton Bailey Farmers Market, the Seneca Bluffs, the Hennepin Community Center, and the Iron Island Museum.
This episode is part of an ongoing series Common Council Conversations, where members of the Buffalo Common Council discuss what's going on in their district and priorities for the coming year.
The interviews will span a variety of topics. Each Common Council member will be asked about:
The series will allow Buffalo residents to hear from their council members on these important topics and hear more about what’s going on in districts across the city.
