Join us on The Public Good this week! We’ll hear from Walter Simpson, an energy activist, educator, professional, and author of several books including his most recent Diesel-Electric Locomotives: How They Work, Use Energy, and Can Become More Efficient and Environmentally Sustainable. He'll be discussing his research process for the book, what diesel-electric locomotives are, how they relate to energy conservation and climate change, as well as the upcoming event Earth Day Train Talk.
Walter retired from UB in 2006 after serving 26 years as University Energy Officer where he led a nationally recognized campus energy conservation program credited with over $100 million in savings. While at UB, he also taught many college-level environmental studies courses. A former director of the Western New York Peace Center, he first became interested in the energy issue because he cared about world peace.
The show will air live on Power 96.5 WNY at 10pm, and on PPG’s Facebook page at 1pm Tuesday, April 9th. You won’t want to miss it!
