Dionne Williamson, Founder and Executive Director of UPward Design for Life, noticed a gap in services. Once domestic violence survivors and other folks who are experiencing housing insecurity can find housing, they are left trying to figure out how to make ends meet and furnish their new homes. Dionne founded UPward Design for Life, the only non-profit in New York State that helps transform empty spaces into furnished homes that can help restore hope, dignity, and independence for those they serve.
